The CEOs of innovative companies operating in the digital health space, Nadine Hachach-Haram of Proximie, and Saul Kornik of Healthforce.io, share insights with IFC Senior Health Specialist Charles Dalton on what providers should consider when planning and executing digital health.
CEO, Proximie
Dr. Nadine Hachach-Haram, BEM, the recipient of the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for 2018, an NHS surgeon, lecturer and clinical entrepreneur. Nadine drew on her passion for innovation, education and global surgery to found Proximie, an augmented reality platform which improves access to expert care and to scale clinical expertise. It enables clinicians to virtually ‘scrub in’ to any clinical setting from anywhere in the world. Dubbed by CNN the "Future of Surgery," Proximie has gone from strength to strength and won multiple awards including Foreign Press Association Science Story of the Year.
Nadine has been selected as an Endeavor entrepreneur, is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons’ Commission on the Future of Surgery, and Faculty at Singularity & Exponential Medicine. She is also the Clinical lead for Innovation at Guys & St Thomas’ Hospital.
Founder & CEO, Healthforce and Kena Health
Saul Kornik has a varied background ranging from healthcare to technology to finance to machine learning to culture change. He is Co-Founder and CEO of Healthforce, an augmentation of technology and doctors that turns nurse-led clinics into effective and specialist health centers. Healthforce is a web application that enables real-time video connections between patients and nurses (or other primary care workers) with higher-level clinical skills (doctors) for the delivery of multi-disciplinary team-based care. The technology reduces care costs, increases care access, and monitors clinical and patient-centric care quality in real-time. Healthforce-supported nurses have run over 1 million consultations and have completed over 110,000 telemedicine consultations with remote doctors. He is also the Co-Founder and CEO of Kena Health. Kena will shortly be launching with a consumer-facing application that will allow the most marginalised in society to have a team of healthcare workers care for them on their phone - as well connect them into Healthforce-powered clinics. Saul has 15 years of entrepreneurial experience in healthcare, and has been a Archbishop Tutu Leadership Fellow and Yale World Fellow.
